What’s FIRST LEGO League?
FIRST LEGO League is a program, which helps youngsters, at the age of 10 to 16, to be part of the world of science and technology in an interactive and entertaining way. They participate in a competition, where they have to accomplish interesting missions with the help of a robot. The children in each team work on specific task, by constructing and programming a robot, which has to fulfill the tasks. The aim of the competition is to show the young participants how it feels to be part of a scientific team, by encouraging them to use creativity to solve complicated challenges.
For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) is a non-profit charitable organization, founded by Dean Kamen in 1989. His mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs. FIRST Headquarter is located in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA.
